Who are Sumsub

Sumsub is an identity verification company. When an app — like a crypto exchange, wallet, or financial service — asks you to verify your identity, there is a good chance Sumsub is running that check behind the scenes.

What Sumsub does

Sumsub provides the technology that checks your identity documents and confirms you are who you say you are. Over four thousand companies worldwide use Sumsub to verify their customers. You may have used Sumsub without realizing it — the verification screen you see at sign-up is often powered by Sumsub.

What Sumsub does not do

  • Sumsub does not decide whether an app accepts or rejects you. Each app sets its own rules for which documents it accepts, which regions it supports, and what qualifies for approval. Sumsub performs the check; the app makes the decision.
  • Sumsub does not provide financial services. Sumsub does not handle money, transactions, or accounts on your behalf.
  • Sumsub does not choose what documents you need to provide. The app you are verifying with determines what is required based on its regulations and policies.

How to get help

If you have a question about your Sumsub ID account (stored documents, account access, data deletion), Sumsub can help. Visit id.sumsub.com or reach out through the help chat on this site.

If you have a question about a specific app's verification (why you were rejected, how long it takes, what documents are needed), contact that app's support team directly. Sumsub handles the technical verification process but cannot change an app's rules or decisions.
